We left the Word of Faith teaching about 18 months ago (after listening to the teaching for over a decade). This cult is destructive. We are thankful that God was so gracious and opened our eyes to the truth. We will be posting blogs soon telling our story and how we came to know the truth.

ReplyDeleteGREAT!!! We are still looking for people in our area... Haven't met anyone, yet. But, I know they are out there somewhere and praying that God will lead us to cross paths. All in His time... Thanks so much for letting me know...
ReplyDeleteHello! I live out west in Arizona and would be interested in hosting a support group if you know of anyone in the Phoenix area. My email address is daughters.of.zion@live.com. I left WoF over a year ago and now go to a Messianic Synagogue (Jewish and Gentile believers) that is WONDERFUL! I would say that I have recovered (mostly) from WoF teachings and the spiritual sickness that I was in, and now I am on a MISSION to WARN THE SHEEP! I still have very good friends that attend the WoF church out here. They bascically refuse to hear the truth. I am in constant prayer for them as my best friend might be offered a staff position at WoF!! I haven't fully told her the whole awful truth about the movement because she REFUSES TO HEAR! The Lord is starting to open her and her husbands eyes and my husband and I decided that we will continue to love them and will be here when the house of cards falls and they are faced with making a decision to follow their idol or follow Jesus Christ. We will be left to pick up the pieces. Please pray for me. I am still VERY ANGRY that the sheep are being led astray. My name is Cherie.
ReplyDeleteGreat Cherie! I posted your comment so if anyone from your area reads this, they will know how to contact you. I can relate to your anger. We have been gone from our previous WOF church for 2 years now and we are still angry at times when we talk about it. It has really caused us to question everything! We have been searching the scriptures diligently to find out what we believe and why we believe it. I am so glad God was gracious to reveal the truth. I can't believe we ever fell for such a lie! We have friends and family that are still believing the lie. We pray that some day they will be open to hear the truth! Blessings & keep standing for the truth!

This WoF cancer must be eradicated from our midst. We cannot be satisfied with our limited success. Who would be satisfied by a partial cure of cancer If someone lives in the Pittsburgh, Ohio and West Virginia areas please e-mail me:

I think any ex Word Of Faither needs therapy just to mentally function right. The first 2 weeks removed from W.O.F I didnt know what to think, say, act, or believe. Scared to talk about it and "let the devil in". Scared to "touch Gods annointed" and talk about my ex pastor. Scared not to "tithe" and be under some old testament curse. Man, its crazy, crazy!
ReplyDeleteIt's been 2 years since we left our WOF cult, Praise God!!! We actually have a little money now. Our ex-WOF pastor owns a million-dollar condo on the beach and God knows what else. We struggled for a year wondering what to do next. We tried the house-church thing -- not for us. We tried seeker/purpose-driven churches -- too shallow and too similiar to WOF. One day we stumbled on John Macarthur's ministry and haven't been the same: www.gty.org Another helpful ministry has been www.piratechristianradio.com Chris Rosebrough's program "A daily dose of discernment." Keep on keeping on ex-WOFers. There's light at the end of the tunnel.

Danny,
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your comment. We have been searching for the right fit for us, too. We have gone to different churches trying to find the right place but can't seem to fit. It has taken us a long time to get out of the "fog". We thought about house church but haven't done that yet. Our problem is that we don't know anyone at all where we live that we share the same views. We are at a lonely place in our lives right now. Thanks for your encouragement! We did find a church while on vacation in Kauai, Hawaii with a pastor that pretty much has the same views we have and he is very much against the WOF movement. He is an apologetic and has studied to defend the Christian faith against cults such as WOF. Go to www.koloachurch.com and listen to his messages. Also, we are on his email list and he sends us emails with teaching focused on defending the Christian faith and true in-depth study of Bible.
My pleasure indeed. Pastor Bob Dewaay of Twin City Fellowship (Minnesota) sent me a link of good bible churches in the U.S. It is:

It is how we found our home church. What a blessing.
Also, feel free to visit my blog at: http://dannyrhowell.blogspot.com
It's dedicated to people such as yourself, to help make sense out of the nonesense from the past.
